Built in 1655 by Don Joseph de Acosta as his residence, it will soon become a favorite site to house the most important characters who went up and down the Camino Real, especially the Viceroys. According to the constructive typology of the Colony, the hall leads to the central patio around which the social life of the family developed. In this house, Manuelita Sáenz will try to kill herself by biting a snake upon learning the news of the death of the liberator Simón Bolívar (December 17, 1830). It is currently the headquarters of the foundation. Antonio Romero Guzmán who fulfills the will and honors the memory of the illustrious patron of education
